Once upon a time in a faraway realm called Cordysia, there lived two Elven heroines who shared many adventures, struggles, and a deep love for and partnership with each other. Through a series of circumstances, after many centuries in their home realm, they found themselves exiled in our world... Earth. For a long time, they had to conceal their true identities and even to some degree their relationship, living among a people who weren't yet ready to accept two non-Humans in their midst. And then, in the early 23rd century, Humankind made first contact with an extraterrestrial species from another planet... and the world changed. And so did life for this pair of Elven women who had been here since the 5th century CE.

Now, some years after their remarkable "coming out" and the challenges initially associated with it, a new constellation suddenly appears, visible from Earth, unknown to Humanity but quite familiar to these two long-lived Daughters of Wind... a group of stars from the Cordysian heavens, the Sylcordeiad... or Heart of Astrys. Mystified, and now with the ability to travel to the stars, a journey is undertaken to explore the truth behind this phenomenon... a phenomenon that offers an unexpected opportunity... and potentially a horrifying cost for the legendary pair.
