Laird Jamie Montgomery is a warrior with a mission. When he travels to the northern Highlands on the orders of William Wallace, temptation in the form of an alluring lass could be his undoing. Lady Lorna Sutherland can't resist the charms of one irresistible Highlander. Though she's been forbidden, she breaks every rule for the pleasure of his intoxicating embrace. When their love is discovered, Jamie is tossed from Sutherland lands under threat of death. But danger can't keep the two of them apart. No matter what perils may try to separate them, Lorna and Jamie swear they'll find a way to be together.

It is a great story. It introduces the Sutherland family who dominate the series. The focus is on the oldest daughter, Lorna, who is 10 years younger than her oldest brother; she has 3 older brothers and one younger sister. As is normal for the time period, Lorna has been promised at birth. Of course, that's not who she wants to wed. Have to read / listen to the story to find out what happens.

Any additional comments?
Really sweet medieval story of alliances, honor, war and forbidden love. Both leads were easy to like. Lorna had a small case of shrewitis but she got over it fairly quickly. Jamie Montgomery *Sigh* - What can I say? He's everything a girl could expect in a highlander. Secondary characters were there but not as prominent, except for Magnus (IMO). Reading this is making me re-visit the series. It was a sweet HEA. Recommended! 4.5Sweet Story
