The Hijra

This is a fictional account of the abuse of vulnerable children in the United Kingdom, based on actual criminality. I hesitated to write this, and it has taken three years of heartfelt consideration. I feel for these poor girls, often from broken families but sometimes, girls from good homes who through one unguarded moment, found themselves caught up, controlled by evil men. Hijra or hijrah is the name used for men who live as female in India and Pakistan. There, they often resort to prostitution to make a living, but in England in the 21st century, why would a twelve year old boy take that path?
