"The Homely Heroine" is a collection of four short stories by author Edna Ferber. The other three stories in the collection are: "A Bush League Hero", "What She Wore" and "The Man Who Came Back". All of them center around ordinary people, showing off both their courage, dignity and their shortcomings when facing challenges in life. A moving and thoughtful listening experience.©2016 Audioliterature (P)2016 Audioliterature Classics

This is a short pleasant story composed by Edna Ferber. I am studying her writing at this time, and I would say that this short story is consistent with her early writing style. The story reminds me, mildly, of an early novel, "Fanny Herself". That is the only Edna Ferber novel that I have thus far read.

I read along as I listed to this audiobook and the performance was completely faithful to the written story. The written story can be accessed online for free. Thank You...
