Carolyn Blanche thought she had left the darkness behind. Once a relentless investigator, she traded the adrenaline rush for a quiet life as a banker, a mother, a woman at peace. But some mysteries refuse to be ignored.

It starts with a house. A half-built, unfinished shell standing alone on a busy road. Ordinary to the world, but to Carolyn, something is deeply, horribly wrong. The house isn’t supposed to be there—it doesn’t even exist on public records. And yet, someone is inside. Watching. Waiting.

What begins as idle curiosity soon spirals into an obsession. Carolyn digs deeper, finding threads that shouldn’t connect but do—missing people, whispers of something monstrous, a past she swore she’d never return to. And then she gets too close.

Abducted. Chained. Trapped inside the very house she feared. Carolyn isn’t alone—there’s Anna, fragile, broken, barely clinging to life. And there are others. Victims of a chilling operation that thrives in plain sight, hidden behind the façade of everyday life.

Time is running out. Carolyn must outsmart the masterminds behind the horror, unearth secrets buried in blood, and fight her way back to the world before she and Anna become just another set of bodies lost to the house that should never have existed.

Twisted, gripping, and terrifyingly real, The House in Plain Sight will keep you on edge until the final, breathtaking revelation.

This story was great. I really enjoyed the last half with how fast paced it became. Also liked a lot of the way the author chose to describe things!

The narrator was great! She did an amazing job with the emotion, pacing, and all the different voices.

Definitely worth the listen.
