Natalie Mosley Klenotic dives back into her family’s dysfunction once again, but this time it centers on the narcissistic origin story of her father, Frank. This book connects the authors previous memoirs together, due to being a prequel. It is a tale of trauma and life during multiple generations spanning from the late 1800’s to present day. It’s not often that an orator has inside information about how a narcissist was formed.
No one is born a narcissist. Every single one of us was once a child without anger or animosity and with this book, the author attempts to determine when Frank began to embody the spirit of a narcissist. She weaves truly traumatic moments together with Frank’s rough and tumble childhood. Frank is more orphan than mothered child, due to his mother battling mental illness and also being abandoned by his father. He is a solitary being on the fringes of society, beginning in the 1950’s.
When does one cross over from a moldable child to a narcissist with rage filled thoughts? With this story the author hopes to shed some light on narcissistic tendencies as they develop.
