Then the missing woman's husband disappears from a roadside stop two hundred miles south while racing home to give Johnny his statement. Faced with an entire missing family who had no local connections, Johnny must piece together who might have a motive to get rid of them. But the investigation takes a shocking turn Johnny never saw coming. As she finds herself locked in a complex cross-jurisdiction case, Johnny must learn who in her little town has secrets they would kill to protect.

Rich characters and clever storyline

A gripping and beautifully written story. I love the complexity of the characters and the story had me guessing all the way through. The only downfall was that the AI version for Audible left something to be desired, including mispronounced words and the tempo in which the voice was “spoken”.
This would’ve been a five star review all the way. Which this author fully deserves. That being said, I was thankful for this being on Audible for me to enjoy.
