A letter in a bottle….A note in the wall…

Sophia and Kay were raised by their single father in the wine region off the coast of California.

The girls had the best life growing up, despite their mother dying shortly after they were born. At least that’s what they were told…

As time passes and their father ages, the girls receive an inheritance - a beautiful beach home on Sand Castle Beach in Maui, a place they’ve visited many times during their childhood.

As Kay begins renovations on their new vacation home, she finds a note that changes her life.

Her mother is alive?

An unlikely person enters the scene…

More secrets begin to be uncovered…

The Inn at Sand Castle Beach is a feel-good, sweet romance that will warm your heart and keep you on the edge of your seat.

The story is cute but very basic. The narration was awful. My young students could have done a better job. The narration was stilted, clipped, and the intonation was all wrong. It ruins the story.

Great storyline! Kept making me listen until it was done! Virtual voice needs some help especially for things like 911 and Ford F150. There’s no flow or recognition of common speech for those items.

Couldn’t stop listening!

Virtual voice is difficult to listen to. I didn't realize it was going to be narrated in this manner. I was invested in the story do I finished listening.

virtual voice is the worst

The virtual voice narration was lacking in emotion and inflection. The overall story would have been so much better with a live narrator.

Did not like virtual voice narration

Good story. Some aspects were not realistic, like the time to renovate the inn, get a legal divorce, or the recovery time after getting a kidney transplant—but the backstories were plausible. The AI narration had some issues. I’m used to the narrators changing their voices for each character. AI was the same voice for everyone, making it a bit challenging to decipher who was speaking at times. Also, there were awkward sentence breaks and intonations where you could totally tell it was AI. I listened all the way through and was reminded that actors knew when to bring feeling and depth into dialogue that technology didn’t because it doesn’t feel. As an author, it’s tempting to leverage AI as a cost effective alternative, but maybe after a couple of iterations.
