A distant London relative to the Ellinghams, vampiress crossbreed Veronica Hadleigh hates black, loves pink, and drives a sexy car. She’s come to Nocturne Falls for a fresh start and maybe even to find Mr. Right - whom she reluctantly discovers could be human fire inspector Lance Grims.

But humans and vampires are a tricky combination. When he realizes Veronica’s true nature, will he stick around or run for the Georgia hills where he was raised?

Tired of listening to stories about humans? Consider the werewolf! Taking various forms over the course of centuries and mythologies, often as flesh-devourers, werewolves now commonly appear in fantasy and romance novels as shape-shifters. The shape-shifting element in werewolves' stories has almost humanized them, depicting the internal struggles we all face within ourselves, on some level or another.

Love Nocturne Falls and all the different authors twists and turns. Thanks Ms. Painter for your innovative approach to this family of authors, and THANK YOU Mr. Harrison for your continued wonderful narrations. You are without a doubt my favorite narrator. Wish you could do all my fav authors!

Overall, this is a story worthy of Nocturne Falls. The cozy mood is right, the characters are likable, there are references to characters from the main series, etc. There is even a little addition to the setting (how does a human's experience change when they stop drinking the Nocturne Falls spelled water?) that was well handled and enjoyable. My only complaint about the story is that it ended too abruptly. I was expecting, let's say, "The Conversation" to be a thing, but that sorta got glossed over and suddenly we were at 6 months later for the HEA. It was disappointing.

Nevertheless, a fun listen for 2 hours. B.J. Harrison gives his usual outstanding performance. Such talent!

Cute cozy story, ends too abruptly

I didnt feel like this story was developed enough. It didnt really explain things I felt it should. It was kind of dissapointing.
