I regret this purchase. I kept up with the series because the stories are terrific, and I cared about the characters. But the “bully cop” attitude always bothered me. I was hoping that, since the characters are evolving, that they would leave the bullying behind at some point. Alas. The hostel owner grumbles that having the police around constantly is bad for business. Instead of reassuring him that they would be out of his hair as soon as possible, Janice threatens to post fake Yelp reviews and destroy his business completely.
Wow. Even the cop’s girlfriend has an attitude, because- hey, didn’t you know? - my boyfriend is a cop!
I’m disheartened to see that the author is a compatriot. I was hoping this was a British thing. No more for me.
