Some lies are safer in the dark.

After months of working with the MTA in search of her captured best friend, Ella Kepler stumbles upon a secret that predates everything she understood about Kara’s kidnapping - including her own past. Armed with a truth that could either destroy or save lives, Ella works alongside a group of metahumans determined to battle injustice and bring every lie to an end. As Ella’s involvement thickens, she’s forced to realize that lies have consequences, enemies wear two faces, and even memories can’t be trusted.

EVOLVED PUBLISHING PRESENTS the second book in the Whitewashed trilogy, following Ella as she finds her place in the world of metahumans and Grifters, a world too hungry to let one girl escape.

I got this book free for my review.

for a sequel this one isnt bad, but certainly not nearly as good as the first book.

the early portion is introduced as reading a memory but then 90% of the book progresses and then last bit sbaps back to reality. The details for being a memory the whole time is just rediculous, even for a meta-human.

overall, not the best, got one more free one following this one, otherwise I wojld walk away from the series after this one. Just not loving it, but I will continue on one more book since it was given in good faith for the review, otherwise into the next one

good, not great sequel

This book was even better than book one! So many questions answered! The narrator continues doing a great job capturing the essence of each character in their voices. I think she was even better this book! (or it could have been the story line... or both!)

If you liked The Trace... then you'll LOVE this!

I loved the back story! This series is awesome. I didn’t even predict any of this like I do with some books. Narrator also did a great job!

I loved a lot of things about this book! We learn so much more about the characters, and why they are who they are! This included that we got to go back and experience why Ella is the way she is by seeing things that happened to her in the past! So many questions are answered which was delightful to see! I also really enjoyed the relationship between Ella and Ethan, but I don't want to give too much away there. Also, my goodness, there are so many twists and turns and they are GREAT! I was on my toes the entire book and couldn't wait to see what was going to happen next. I was given this title, but left a review of my own free will because I truly recommend this book :)

Great continuation of the story
