The Jury

Paul Madriani has ample reason to suspect he's representing a guilty man. Dr. David Crone, a respected medical researcher and principal in mapping the human genome, is charged with the murder of a young colleague: twenty-six-year-old Kalista Jordan, an African-American research physician whose body washed up on a beach in San Diego Bay. Forensic evidence links her murder with material in Crone's garage. Crone had both opportunity and motive: Kalista had recently ended their affair, and may have been deserting him professionally as well, moving on to a rival genetic research facility. However, when a key witness for the prosecution dies unexpectedly, leaving an incriminating note behind, Crone's innocence seems confirmed-until Madriani hits upon a potentially damning loose end.

Fair story but a bit wanting

I was expecting perhaps a Perry mason or John Grisham story. While to courtroom scenes were very detailed there was little back and forth between prosecution and defense. Since the main story picks up in the middle of the trial, I felt there was little build up to an almost to short conclusion.
This was not a bad story but with no rising action the pace was too steady until the last three chapters. It is a good story not great.

Loved the book

Lots of twists and turns. Just when you thought you knew the answers, more questions and new possibilities. Great book

Another excellent novel, great story line. Had me until just about the end. Thank you for writing such wonderful books.

Boring!

What a disgusting boring book. With only about 8 characters it wasn’t very difficult to figure out whodunit and why.
