Patrick Bowers has pursued the nation's fiercest serial killers - and now one elusive foe is back for revenge. Settling into a new post at the FBI academy, Patrick and his fiancée, Lien-hua Jiang, are planning their future together with his stepdaughter, Tessa. But just when his life seems normal, a demon from the past returns to draw him down a dark road he hoped had closed forever. Forced into a desperate hunt to save the two women he loves most, Patrick is in a race against time to stop an international conspiracy from becoming the most widespread act of terrorism in U.S. history.

Ferrone has a way of raising his tone at the end of sentences when speaking for girls, especially younger girls. Like you do when asking a question. That bugs me but other than that he’s a 5 star narrator. The author is 5 star too.

Loved it except for Ferrone’s girl voice

I have listened to almost all of the Patrick Bowers series. I love all the twists and turns with the surprise ending. So much so, that each book of the series has had my headphones glued to my head for hours until I completely lose track of time.
Richard Ferrone is the perfect choice to have narrate the series. To me he fits the profile of a seasoned FBI agent.
I love the entire series and I hope there are more books to be added in the future.

Excellent book

Which scene was your favorite?

I like the interaction scenes between Patrick and his daughter.

If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?

You could not make a film out of this book and do it justice.

Any additional comments?

This was a pretty interesting book maybe a little dark and gory for some and I think it is ironic that this series is an Inspirational book series because I do not find that they offer any good uplifting inspirations. Of course if you used the reasoning and logic of Agent Bowers inspiration does not necessarily have to be for the good and more likely people are inspired to act on the evil that is in them. I do not listen to these books for any great inspirations anyway but purely for the mystery and intrigue of the story. This book hooks you right at first and does a pretty good job of keeping your attention through out but there are a few eye roller moments, places where it tends to drag, get a little to technical and some scenes you can see coming from a long way off. Also I was disappointed in the ending with a anthropophagus gnawing its way through the chapters of the next book as I was hoping for something different to digest. Overall if you like mystery and intrigue this book does a pretty good job of delivering.

An interesting listen with some decent twist but..

I didn't like the graphic explanation of the suicides at the beginning of the book, but it has its reasons for being there.

excellent story writing

As with all of the Bowers File books, this one didn't disappoint. Great storyline that kept my interest all the way to the end. Richard Ferrone is the best at narrating this series.

Excellent book in Bowers File collection
