Bloomsbury presents The Korean War by Carter Malkasian, read by Christopher Ragland.

In this introduction, Dr Carter Malkasian provides a concise overview of the so-called "Forgotten War" in Korea.

From 1950 to 1953, the most powerful countries in the world engaged in a major conventional war in Korea. Yet ironically this conflict has come to be known as the USA's "Forgotten War." Esteemed historian Dr Carter Malkasian explains how this conflict in a small peninsula in East Asia had a tremendous impact on the entire international system and the balance of power between the two superpowers, America and Russia. In this detailed history, he examines how the West demonstrated its resolve to thwart Communist aggression and the armed forces of China, the Soviet Union and the United States came into direct combat for the only time during the Cold War.

Updated and revised for the new edition, this is a detailed introduction to a significant turning point in the Cold War.©2023 Carter Malkasian (P)2023 Bloomsbury Publishing

I highly recommend listening to this book as a primer for understanding the Korean War. Some of the topics it discusses include:
- the reasons for entering the War
- the various strategies employed by all sides
- the policies those strategies were meant to achieve
- the fighting both sides endured
I found this to be a great book and its importance to understanding our current times cannot be understated. Well worth your time.

Awesome book and audio to listen to about the Korean War. I described it as light reading very good summary well inform information. The Korean wars were forgotten wars of America, and one of the first conflicts of the Cold War other than the Chinese Civil War. Where this conflict nearly sparked World War III.
