This book covers the life and times of Michael Hastings while trying to figure out the events leading up to the early morning hours of June 18, 2013. In 2005, Hastings was sent to Iraq to cover the war for Newsweek. Later he would embed himself with soldiers in Afghanistan that would lead to the resignation of the top general of the war. In 2008 and 2012 Hastings would cover the election campaigns of John McCain, Hillary Clinton, and Barack Obama. In 2012 the war on journalists started and Hastings found himself in the crosshairs of the Federal Government.
Clues are everywhere, the list of suspects is long, and maybe when you go over the evidence yourself you can decide for yourself what happened on that morning.
