Auralee Wallace
An enchantingly warm and funny novel about family, love lost and found, discovering who you are, and how difficult it is to slay a vampire from the beloved national bestselling author of the TikTok sensation In the Company of Witches.
Cassie Beckett’s life is anything but magical. With a wild younger sister, three unruly kids, and an absent husband, she’s really not looking forward to the witching month of October. At least the gorgeous, foggy Prince Edward Island is always quiet.
That is, until the vampires arrive.
As the creatures sink their teeth into Cassie’s tenuous grip on normalcy, she’s forced to come face-to-face with long–disregarded family secrets. The legacy gifts her with power, but also a lofty responsibility: rid the island of vampires, or let them win. (Both options suck, in more ways than one.)
Armed with her family, newfound friends, and a baby in a spectacularly garlicky onesie, Cassie must learn what it is to be a witch and how to fight for what she loves before time runs out. Because on Halloween night, the stakes will be higher than ever before...and it’s up to Cassie to finish what the witches that came generations before her started.

Critic reviews
"Magical mayhem, heart, and humor, Auralee Wallace’s The Late-Night Witches is filled to the brim with authentic family dynamics, self-discovery, and an unforgettable Halloween showdown. You'll fall deeply in love with this enchanting and cozy book, so much so that you’ll want to return to it every fall just to experience it again!"—Breanne Randall, New York Times bestselling author of The Unfortunate Side Effects of Heartbreak and Magic
“A spellbinding adventure of real heart and humour. The Late-Night Witches is packed with fun nostalgia, a picturesque autumn setting, and loveable characters that I was rooting for from the very first Jack O’Lantern. I loved spending Halloween with the Beckett witches!”—Lucy Jane Wood, author of Rewitched
"Wallace (In the Company of Witches) infuses humor, magic, and surprise into this well-crafted suburban fantasy...Wallace’s wonderfully realized characters overcome the exasperation of child-rearing, embrace the bonds of family and friendship, and chuckle through their madcap adventures. Readers are sure to be entertained."—Publishers Weekly
“This fantasy novel has its scares but is ultimately very cozy—the kind of fun, exciting fantasy that warms readers' hearts.”—Booklist
“Wallace’s wild romp of a Halloween broom ride combines painful family legacies and found sisterhoods with the lost legacies of Hazel Beck’s ‘Witchlore’ series and Andrea Jo DeWerd’s What We Sacrifice for Magic, plus Buffy the Vampire Slayer. Recommended for fans of any of the above or of the recent spate of contemporary witchy novels.”—Library Journal
"I picked this for readers who love witchy suburban fantasies with laugh-out-loud mom-power moments; Wallace's blend of snack-fueled magic and family camaraderie made me giggle, cheer, and feel like I could conquer any Halloween monster-especially if I had juice boxes on hand."—BiblioLifestyle
“This book is great! Witches, vampires, magical cats and humor all rolled into one. A great end-of-the summer book.”—Red Carpet Crash

Her husband is abroad with Doctors Without Borders and I thought I must’ve misheard and she was divorced. But just got to the point where she confirms she’s married but her sister doesn’t like her husband. But she’s fantasying about the naked professor in her shower.
It’s just weird and unexpected. Makes her unlikeable and I don’t know why the author didn’t just make her divorced. (She has three kids).
I don’t love vampire stories but I do like witchy plots which is why I started listening to this. But this is not
for me.

The humor was honestly my favorite part: it’s funny, cheeky, and quirky. My only complaint? I wanted more Tommy! He was so funny and made me laugh every time. It just had all the right vibes, hence the 4 stars ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Beyond the laughs and magic, it also had some important underlying themes including: family bonds, finding your sense of self, and making tough choices. Charming, heartwarming, and just a little spooky — the perfect cozy read.
Audiobook itself gets ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️. Great narration!!
