Two vague shapes were coming toward Jacob Cooper, floating and drifting through the ruins like wisps of smoke. Dr. Cooper jumped up, "Jay! Lila! Are you there? Can you hear me?" In 1885, the Murphy mine struck gold. According to legend, Annie Murphy killed her husband out of greed. Just before she was to be hanged for the murder, she escaped. Now, a hundred years later, there have been sightings of Annie Murphy's "ghost." The Coopers unwittingly become involved in a mystery that finds them caught between the past and the present.

Great adventure

This was a really fun story and it was a quick listen. narrator did a fantastic job and kept me interested the entire time. Great story for kids and adults.

A delight for the whole family

I grew up on the Cooper Kids Adventures and couldn't wait to share them with my kids. When my kids turn 8, I pull out the series and read them out loud as we go through the adventures together. My kids all loved the series as much as I do so we were excited to find the audio books so they can listen to them on their mp3 players while they do other things. I loved reading these stories to them for the first time, but this is so much easier on my vocal chords.

Best Cooper kids book!!!

This is possibly the best book in this series!!! Well-written, and such a brilliant plot. I loved the supernatural elements he blended with science flawlessly!
