Today, there are several pressing environmental issues, such as the depletion of natural resources, pollution, species extinction, global climate change, and pressures resulting from high population growth. Usually, the solutions presented are imposed from the top down, using the coercive apparatus of the state. These solutions are not only unethical, but also uneconomical. In this book, it is argued that if one truly wants to solve environmental problems, one must follow the principle of non-aggression and the ethics of private property, which provide a universal criterion for conflict resolution. From this Austro-libertarian perspective, environmental issues are analyzed. The position is defended that natural goods and environmental services should be privatized simply because it is the only ethical option. Furthermore, it is also the best option from an economic point of view, as it creates value, generates wealth, and ensures that we have the exact amount of nature that society considers ideal.
