#1 NEW YORK TIMES BESTSELLER • A tremendously entertaining legal thriller, filled with the kind of courtroom strategies, theatrics, and suspense that have won John Grisham acclaim as “an absolute master” (The Washington Post).

After leaving a fast-track legal career and going on a serious bender, David Zinc is sober, unemployed, and desperate enough to take a job at Finley & Figg, a self-described “boutique law firm” that is anything but.

Oscar Finley and Wally Figg are in fact just two ambulance chasers who bicker like an old married couple. But now, with their new associate on board, the firm is ready to tackle a case that could make the partners rich—without requiring them to actually practice much law.

A class action suit has been brought against Varrick Labs, a pharmaceutical giant with annual sales of $25 billion, alleging that Krayoxx, its most popular drug, causes heart attacks. Wally smells money. All Finley & Figg has to do is find a handful of Krayoxx users to join the suit. It almost seems too good to be true . . . and it is.

Praise for the novels of John Grisham

“John Grisham is about as good a storyteller as we’ve got in the United States these days.”The New York Times Book Review

“In all of Grisham’s best books . . . the reader gets good company, a vigorous runaround and . . . a bit of a legal education.”—Janet Maslin, The New York Times

“Grisham’s books are smart, imaginative, and funny, populated by complex, interesting people.”The Washington Post

“The law, by its nature, creates drama, and a new Grisham promises us an inside look at the dirty machineries of process and power, with plenty of entertainment.”Los Angeles Times

“John Grisham owns the legal thriller.” The Denver Post

This book is a fun read with a message about product liability and how two companies handled the problem differently. There is some humor, outrageous behavior with very little drama. For Grisham this is a light weight story that is an easy read that leaves you feeling good but leaves you with no major issues to mull over. Not to the standards of his first few books but is enjoyable to read. The Narrator Dennis Boutsikaris did a good job and I enjoyed the description of Chicago.

Grisham is back in the courtroom

I don't think I have listened to a more poorly written story...especially regarding the trial and the results. The author's other books were much better.

a real disappointment

I just couldn't put it down I wanted to know what was going to happen next. The characters fix together so well. OMG the reader was excellent. We need another one like this one.

Absolutely the greatest

John Grisham is one of my favorite authors and his new book does not disappoint. I was disappointed when it ended. Can't wait for his next!

Loved it!

I almost didn't get this book after the soapbox comic book scenarios his last book used. But I was pleasantly surprised that Grisham went back to telling an entertaining story. The characters were real, and the scenarios were plausible. I really enjoyed the book, and best of all he stays away from politics (pet peeve of mine, regardless if I agree or not).

Solid read, fun and entertaining
