Quoted in the book of Jude, and used to form our view of angels and demons, this book connects the dots of doctrine and prophecy in the scriptures. Details are revealed about the "Sons of God, (angels), that left their positions in heaven to marry human women", having children that became giants and monsters called Nephilim who introduced violence, sorcery, and evil spirits into the world. This book, along with the Book of Jubilees, is considered sacred to the Christian church in Ethiopia, and is placed in their Bible alongside the Old Testament books.

I love reading different versions of Enoch, Cepher, Lumpkin, and others, to see the slight differences between them, just to get a fuller understanding of the text. Great Audible, the voiceover is done good, pronounced everything good. This book is one of the oldest books out there, found with the other Dead Sea scrolls, taught my "Jesus" , quoted by Jude. And many of the "old testament" book. This ancient text is important to read. At least to me. If you need some better understanding of it, Parable of the Vineyard YouTube channel has a great series going on.

I received a review copy of this audiobook.

This is a stripped down version of The Books of Enoch, also by Lumpkin. As such, I have basically the same comments I had when I listened to that.

Lumpkin does a fine job giving useful commentary and context for the book of Enoch. The book itself is fascinating.

The audiobook is somewhat overproduced. While I applaud attempting to distinguish narration/comments from the original text, the echo effect is distracting and unpleasant.

The best was the other title by Joseph Lumpkin, A Complete Guide and Reference. Compared to The Book of Enoch: A Complete Guide and Reference, this version is the same book without as many bible references and notes from the author. This version is best suited for the casual reader whereas the Complete Guide and Reference is for the academic. Both are well produced and I love Dennis Logan's voice, style and delivery.
