The enemy of my people lies broken in my tent. My oath says heal him. My heart says don’t.

They found him half-drowned after the bridge collapse, more dead than alive. My elders commanded me to save him. I'd rather let him rot. But I gave an oath, and oaths bind deeper than hatred.

So I heal Rourke, the head of the Oathland Guard, the man whose army has hunted my people for generations, who believed we were savages until he woke in my care.

He's a terrible patient. Questions every remedy. Fights every treatment. Watches me like I might slit his throat while he sleeps. The feeling is mutual. Except somewhere between poultices and arguments, the lines start blurring. He sees me. Not as Wildling. As something more.

The magic that disappeared generations ago is flooding back into the world, raw and hungry. My light magic surges brighter each day, connecting me to shadows I don't understand—to something that whispers my name in the darkness.

Rourke is the enemy. But he might be the only one who can help me survive what's waking inside me.

Letting him die would be simpler than admitting I need him. Letting him live might doom us all.

The Lost Guard’s Healer is a steamy enemies-to-lovers fantasy romance filled with forbidden tension, healing magic, and a slow-burn love that could change everything. Recommended for 18+ due to content and language.

Galene and Rourk go on a journey of learning that there is more to everything in life than what is seen right in front of them. From the time they first met, there was nothing but vitriol between them. But the progression to the end made it worth finding the Audible companion to this book. I truly enjoyed this and found the level of drama to be just enough for the story that was put forth.
