Nothing at all it was a very good book and I loved it soo much!! Definitely recommend for all the Littles!!

Enjoyable Story

As a 50+ year old reader I am not the target audience for this story, but I enjoyed it nevertheless. The book is listed in the children's section, and I feel that is the correct place for it. While it does have some mature vocabulary such as incongruous, and some historical characters such as Hitler, it is certainly accessible for young readers and should provide some good topics for discussion.

The book starts out by establishing that the main character has had a rough childhood. The first chapters were heavily populated with cruel and abusive characters, and I disliked that it reinforced the notion that intelligent and curious children are going to be bullied wherever they go. Then when he moved to a place where he fit in and could start learning new skills, he promptly fell into the stereotypical 'gifted student becomes pessimistic when he isn't an instant expert' role. All that said, I did appreciate that he was able to learn new skills, make new friends, and learn the value of teamwork by the time the story was over.
