This is an extremely clever and entertaining story by H. de Vere Stacpoole of lookalikes and switching of identities! Our protagonist, a very poor American in England, meets his lookalike, the rich Rochester in a fancy hotel. The two get along, but very soon the world announces the suicide of (the real) Rochester. From now on everything gets really complicated, as the new Rochester falls in love with the old/real Rochester's woman... A very funny work but also a very astute social satire.

H. De Vere Stacpoole (1863-1951), was an extremely prolific Irish writer. His most known and popular work is the often filmed romance "The Blue Lagoon".

Jack Brown is a passionate reader of classic and genre oriented literature. He enjoys creating high quality audio books.©2018 Audioliterature (P)2018 Audioliterature
