Ezra resides in a desert tribe where women are deemed worthless, power is demonstrated through violence, and being a hero entails dying in battle. As Ezra approaches his sixteenth birthday, he is expected to do the unthinkable if he is to be considered a man before he goes on his first mission for the tribe. Will he choose to follow the teachings of his mother who has always guided him towards the right path, or will he be influenced by the expectations of being the Mentu Prince and become the demon as his father desires?

Unexpected and Excellent

I wasn’t sure where The Mentu Prince was headed but I’m glad I went along for the ride. Z. K. Stones writes Ezra with a conviction and humanity that can be hard to find among today’s over-powered heroes. A good take with a thought provoking ending!
