"The Midnight Club is the novel I wrote just before Along Came A Spider. I'm certain that both Alex Cross and Sampson originated in ideas I had while writing this story. It's one of my favorites." - James Patterson

Bestselling author James Patterson weaves a suspenseful tale of a powerful mobster who runs up against a very determined cop and his faithful crime fighters.

A stunningly brilliant psychopathic killer who has skillfully eluded the police from London to Paris to New York. A beautiful woman journalist suddenly in grave danger. An unorthodox New York detective whose motive for stopping the killer couldn't be more personal or emotional.

All bound by the chains of secrecy, wealth, and crime formed by the cabal called The Midnight Club.

I loved the story, everyminute of it. The reader's voice went brought earch character alive. I only have one complaint; what is up with the added music at the end of each chapter or so. It bothered me a lot. The added sounds made it sound cheesey. I didn't like it at all.

Noise? =( Annoying

This was an excellent book and unlike others the narrator is one of the best for this type of genre. Forsters narration puts me in mind of the Sam Spade type novel/movies which are my all time favorites and i wish he would do more. Patterson is true to form and holds the story together quite well.

Great Narration

Average work by the author; have seen better and worse. Fun read without much effort.

Truthfully, this is one of the better stories that I have read from Mr. Patterson. I pretty much like just about everything about it. Then why the 4 out of 5 you ask. The one thing that bothered me throughout the story over and over again was the number of times that huge hulking men were being shot and killed by 22 caliber guns. Even if I misunderstood, which I don't believe I did, and they were 32 caliber guns, big strapping "thugs" hit by either of these slugs, even multiples don't go flying thru the air. Most police carry 9mm or a gun similar to it for the stopping power, not a .22 or a .32 cal. If you can get over the gun mismanagement, then this is a great book to "read." If you are a gun "nut", be warned, you may be found in a room yelling at nothing like I was. :)

Writer he is, weapons expert he is not.

Narrator Robert Forster's reading was so annoying, it nearly caused me to stop listening half way through...I couldn't wait for it to end! Robert, here's a tip.........stop trying to sound like "Dirty Harry".

OK Story........Horrible Narrator!
