From New York Times best-selling author David Mack comes a visionary World War II-era adventure. The Midnight Front is the epic first audiobook in the Dark Arts series.

On the eve of World War Two, Nazi sorcerers come gunning for Cade but kill his family instead. His one path of vengeance is to become an apprentice of The Midnight Front—the Allies’ top-secret magickal warfare program—and become a sorcerer himself. Unsure who will kill him first—his allies, his enemies, or the demons he has to use to wield magick—Cade fights his way through occupied Europe and enemy lines. But he learns too late the true price of revenge will be more terrible than just the loss of his soul—and there’s no task harder than doing good with a power born of ultimate evil.

David Mack is one of my favorite Star Trek writers, so when I saw this book I had to check it out. Midnight Front has a lot of the best qualities of Harry Potter, Dresden, and other supernatural series without being the least bit derivative. As a historian, I love the way Mack weaves his narrative into actual WWII events, using real-life historical figures. As a reader, I love the story, the way magic works in his world and, especially, the message about life and the afterlife. Highly recommended!

Fantastic! Can't wait to read the sequels.

The tittle pretty much says want I think. I read the story on a book I owned back home. So I figured it’s be interesting to listen to it. His voice is very emotive during during dialogue but is slightly less so when reading what is not dialogue.

Good story, the VA was rather monotone.
