Well-written, well-developed characters

I love the characters in this book. They were original, strong, independent and entertaining. Christi did a great job in creating and "handling" the head-strong, persistent, often pestilent heroine. Often those kind of female characters are just flat annoying to the reader and distract from both the story and from the other characters. Good job Christi.

I really like how Christi so adeptly blends the commoners with the aristocrats. Another great job by Christi and Tim.

Just Wonderful - Dialogue & Story

This one really nailed it, from the sad histories of hero & heroine being betrayed by loved ones to their passion to learn & help others. Through this, they learn to help each other & become strong enough to help themselves want to be better (not bitter). I laughed so many times as they bantered & grew together. Truly well done unfolding of story & extraordinary HEA. Ive got over 900 romances listened to in my library, and this is pretty high up for enjoyable and believably "love."
