He could see everyone's past but his own.

Julian Black avoids people. Tormented by the ability to experience their most intimate, painful memories with a single touch, he reluctantly begins using his skill to assist tenacious Philadelphia police detective Lela Mars. But his life is soon upended when he’s captured by an equally gifted man claiming to be from his past—a suave master thief who can make people forget.

Now this mysterious stranger is ordering Julian to obtain a vital government secret that could shift the balance of world power. With Lela Mars as his only ally, Julian faces an impossible choice: Comply or pit his wits against the world’s most secretive and deadly crime organization.

The Mirror Man is a stylish, twisty thriller that recalls the danger, charm, and wit of Hitchcock classics such as North by Northwest and To Catch a Thief, and the high-octane adventure of the James Bond novels and films.

I loved this book/listen. The author did a really cool thing by jumping back and forth between our two main characters which were all really likable. I love the villain. I enjoyed the Hitchcock references a lot. The voice actor did a great job with so many different characters and different accents. The story paints a picture of multiple worlds really well.

a fun suspense, humor, sci-fi treat!

Decent story, but the bad editing was distracting. There were many unnecessary details and repetition.
Also, the CIA first admitted to studying remote viewing in the 1970's. Even over-censored wikipedia still lists it (for now).

Decent

The hands of Julian Black are mystical yet informative. One touch and Julian can capture memories hidden deep within or laying at surface area. Born with this unique gift, Julian has become a loner living at home with his mother. Until one day, news of a road rage murder makes him rethink his stance on his chosen solitary confinement. Having solved the murder, Julian is now on the local police’s radar. When an old acquaintance requests his presence, Julian becomes involved in international intrigue.

The author, J. B. Manas carefully weaves storylines growing unique characters with colorful and dangerous backgrounds as well as the mundane. Each storyline comes together naturally and gives the listener an entertaining, nail-biting time. He develops each character at different paces. The character of Julian is developed much slower than Sebastian or Lela. The only thing missing in this story is James Bond as we have the international intrigue and secret organizations as well as the criminal elements. The conclusion of the storyline is satisfying and unexpected. The plot twists are well-executed and unexpected.

The narrator, Colin Martin does an excellent job of voicing each character. The accents and cadence for each character are spot-on. Martin keeps each character's voice straight and consistent. His cadence is steady and keeps the story moving forward.

Overall, this is an exciting book that I feel has more adventure before it is done. I highly recommend this book to those who enjoy mystery and intrigue.

Everything about this book was great. The storyline, the characters, kept your interest from the beginning to the end. The only negative was trying to pause this story. It just flowed. I can't wait for the next story from J B Manas
