I did not know about Pierre Matisse. This was a fascinating & inspiring story. For Artists & People ;)

A child in wartime

The first 3/4 of this memoir are a lovely but telling story of a child and very young man’s experience of WWII in France, beautifully performed. The last chapter completely lost me - not terrible, just lost me - but that shouldn’t detract from what was otherwise very good “read”
