One of Kenyon College’s most honored professors, Timothy B. Shutt is widely renowned as a gifted polymath and lecturer. The night sky was the ancient world’s cinema, and storytellers have used this panorama to weave fascinating tales since the earliest days of mankind. This captivating series of lectures explores the mythological sagas found in the night sky and the history behind the names of the great constellations.

Been listening to various of these lectures for twenty years and have always enjoyed them. Shutt has always been my favorite. This marries two of my great loves, astronomy and mythology.

Great topic, great lecturer

This magical audio is created by the combination of one of the best professors on Audible, and a topic that has fascinated many of us (including the lecturer) since childhood. I learned a lot and found it one of the best listens I've had from Audible. It was delightful while winding down in the evening. I think it would be wonderful for a homeschooler. I now want the clouds to clear so I can apply what I have learned!

So highly recommended.

Fascinating topic, charming lecturer

Any additional comments?

Really good intro to cover what the constellations and their connection to ancient mythology is. I was looking for a book like this and I found it! I've been getting into naked-eye astronomy and wanted to understand what the stories were that caused the Greeks and Romans to put these figures in the sky.
