An illuminating exploration of Ireland's ancient dark goddess - the beloved "phantom queen" of the Celtic world - with practices for modern-day devotees.

The Morrigan is one of Pagan Ireland's most famous - and notorious - goddesses. Her name translated as "phantom queen" or "great queen," the Morrigan is famous for being a goddess of war, witchcraft and death, protection and retribution. This book also explores her patronage of motherhood, healing, shapeshifting, and the land.

Classified among the Sidhe (fairies), the Morrigan dates back at least to Ireland's Iron Age, but she is as modern as she is ancient-enjoying a growing contemporary and global following.

Author Courtney Weber provides a guide for the modern devotee of this complex, mysterious goddess that encompasses practical veneration with modern devotionals, entwined with traditional lore and Irish-Celtic history.

I very much enjoyed this book as a newly studying Celtic Pagan and witch. I very much like the narrator of this book I recommend her to other authors that are looking for a female voice that has character and does not read flat like the AI which I am not so fond of. I also recommend listening to this book with a pen and journal as you are going to want to make note of many things and almost every chapter depending of course on where you are in your study of Brigid. ****I would not recommend messing with her if you are not ready to follow through on some spells I actually had my memory triggered of something I had promised to her and have not followed through yet which makes a lot of sense as to why a certain thing has not happened even though I have been doing what I promised elsewhere. I did not pick up litter in one specific location and trust me I am going to be doing it as soon as I am near that location again! Even thoughits Way out of my way bc I moved**** I actually purchased a second book "Tending Brigid's Flame" so I can learn more of this wonderful goddess. I very much like the narrator as well. if this book has jumped out to you especially more than once I say Get it there's a reason she's calling to you....

Highly Recommend for new/seasoned studier, Read ALL of review there is a warning!
