Very nice little listen

This is such a nice story and I really enjoyed listening to it. The voice work is wonderful and I look forward to the additional stories that seem to be planned ;).

This is a fun cozy first book in a new series. Small town and quirky characters that all want what is best for their town, but most have their own idea how it should be done. I can almost picture these people in my town. It is hilarious in places, but some others are sad. I enjoyed seeing who would prevail. I will definitely continue with this series.


The narration was well done.The characters were well portrayed by Becky Doughty.

Gentle Walk Through a Small Town

I really enjoyed this story a lot. It was a gentle character study of various people who all live in a small town in Kentucky where everyone knows everyone else's business. Really made me wish that I lived there. There weren't any murders, car chases or vampires, just normal people acting decently to one another. Very enjoyable.

Small Town Kentucky Irks and Quirks

So glad I found this new series about the funny and endearing folks of Goose Creek . . . a Kentucky girl myself, I had to laugh at the antics and goings on, especially Little Norm and his shoddy job of painting the water tower and his father, Norman who is trying to strong arm the city council into giving his son the job a second time . . . the mayor gently maneuvering through the mess to request bids, while trying to keep the peace . . . the town veterinarian is retiring and selling the business to a young whippersnapper, Dr. Susan Jeffries, a woman, no less . . . and the locals ain't having it . . . no way, especially when Susan meets Mrs. Barnes and her big black cat, Arnold on her first day at the clinic . . . noticing that Arnold had six toes, Susan noted that it was a birth mutation . . . thus began the boycott of the the clinic and the rumor that Susan had threatened to cut off the cat's sixth toe! Millie Richardson, the part-time receptionist, takes Susan under her wing, gently helping her to get to know the people of Goose Creek and build her business . . . Millie and Al, who cannot see eye to eye on buying the old Victorian home that Millie has her heart set on . . . and the bargaining they do, both overtly and covertly . . . as those of us in long marriages can appreciate . . . ha ha . . .
