After nearly 130 years of trying, only 11 colts have swept the Kentucky Derby, the Preakness Stakes, and the Belmont Stakes to earn the Triple Crown - the grand slam of Thoroughbred racing. These 11 were more than just magnificent Thoroughbreds - they were stars, and their stories are full of the drama, passion, and courage associated with stardom. These champions’ stories are found in The Most Glorious Crown, the most entertaining and comprehensive work on the Triple Crown winners ever assembled.

Would you listen to The Most Glorious Crown again? Why?

This is a great book whether or not you are a racehorse fan; however, if you have any knowledge of horse racing, you will be disappointed by the reader's mispronunciations of farms, horses and Jockeys names. It was really annoying.

Great Read; poor choice of reader/producer

Would you recommend this book to a friend? Why or why not?

If you would like a history lesson on three year old horses, this is your book

Who would you have cast as narrator instead of Kevin Stillwell?

Anyone, He is terrible, mispronounces everything.

Was The Most Glorious Crown worth the listening time?

maybe

Any additional comments?

This is a great story, the pronunciation of names is pathetic at best. If you had no knowledge of horse racing prior this book would make you look like an idiot attempting to have a conversation with a horse racing enthusiast. Really, He should have consulted with people knowledgeable with horse racing.

Horrible narration

Small mistakes (like the Belmont’s flower being a chrysanthemum) and mispronunciation of well known names was distracting.

Not a lot of new info for avid race followers, but still better than listening to something not racing related.

Wish reader pronounced names correctly

Other reviewers have mentioned that the narrator mispronounces many words; this is true. What makes it particularly egregious is that most frequently these are names of famous race horses. If you have any interest at all in this, it becomes tiresome.
Otherwise a stellar product; I read an earlier edition in 1975. Love the content.

I left off the fifth star because I'm biased toward anything horse related. Still, before I started listening I worried that perhaps I'd find fault with the narrator or the writing. No faults found.

Great book about great horses
