With "echoes of Of Mice and Men" (The Bookseller, UK), The Motel Life explores the frustrations and failed dreams of two Nevada brothers - on the run after a hit-and-run accident - who, forgotten by society, and short on luck and hope, desperately cling to the edge of modern life.

A tale of two brothers that had a rough start. I enjoy like that the were close. The author does a great job of pulling you into their world. By the end you have come to emphasize with their plight. I wanna explore mor work by wily.

I loved this. I’ll be going back to it again and again. It feels so natural on audio—a good friend weaving an engrossing yarn—that I’m glad I listened to it before I read it but I’ll certainly read it as well.

So wonderful

This is my 4th Willy Vlautin book in a row, and I think I need to take a break before I get any more depressed!
I love his stories. They are so well written and it’s a real treat when he narrates them himself
The characters in this book are really down and out. They are a mess to start with, and their bad decisions just keep digging them in deeper.
Still the author brings out the good with the bad, and you can’t help really feeling for the people in the story.
With Willy Vlautin, just when you think it can’t get any worse, it does. But he leaves you with a sliver of hope at the end.

Gut wrenching
