each book jumps centuries and changes characters

so far, I'm on book 3. and each book ends just as it gets real good then onto the next book... the story does NOT continue from the previous book, they jump centuries in the story line with all new characters.

One of my favorite Audible fantasy series

This entire series is excellent. Rich characters and world building. Wonderful narration. I've put this entire series right up there with The First Law Series (Abercrombe), Spellmonger and other epic fantasy. Enjoy them all. You won't regret it.
