What if your inspiration was actually a monster?

This is the first audiobook I have listened to by this author although i have read several of his other books so i had an idea of what to expect. i was not disappointed! This was a fun story that was part horror and part mystery. There is a serial killer out there and he has killed the wife of the sheriff. The sheriff naturally does everything he can to track the killer down. There is a problem though. I dont want to tell too much but if you like your horror of the supernatural variety you will probably enjoy this. The story ends, no annoying cliffhanger. Be careful which characters you get attached to since they all don't make it. An entertaining story for adults with so.e gore but not an excessive amount. The author provides the narration and does a really good job of it.

I expected more with all the awards this book won. It was good but not excellent. Mystery, horror, creature, and a parasite type monster that is in a serial killer. Action, suspense, gore, and more kept the book going.
The author narrated the book and did a good job.

A writer's thriller!

Great listen! Simple, straightforward writing and a great story. With the theme of writing; in particular the mysteries of creativity and the fugue-state familiar to any artist completely entrenched in his work, this book is a writer's thriller. A must for King fans!

The audio was particularly good. The author did a fantastic job, and it was great to hear this book as he intended it to be performed. Very well done all around. Highly recommended!
