Three cases. Three corners of Sydney. One detective who won't let go.

Sergeant Natalie Campbell is new to Homicide, paired with veteran Detective Gary Haddock — a man who's seen everything and trusts nothing. Together they work the cases Sydney would rather forget: the bodies that surface where wealth meets water, where the city's bright facade hides something rotten underneath.

Dark Streets (Book 1) A homeless man dies on Darlinghurst Road — no surprise, until the autopsy says murder. Then a socialite is found with her throat cut in the exclusive Point Piper. Then another body. And another. A killer is moving between Sydney's extremes, and Campbell and Haddock are running out of time to find the connection.

Pinchgut (Book 2) A woman's remains surface in an old harbour fort, seventeen years after she vanished. Her father is Bernie Cornell, a billionaire, bully, and dying man who wants answers before the cancer takes him. But Campbell suspects he already knows more than he's telling.

Island Shadows (Book 3) A heavy metal concert on Cockatoo Island ends with the lead singer dead backstage. A thousand suspects, a harbour between them and the mainland, and a killer who'll disappear when the morning ferries resume.

Sydney Harbour glitters, but it keeps secrets. Campbell is learning to read what lies beneath.

For fans of Michael Robotham, Candice Fox, and Jane Harper.

It’s a really good story and the virtual narrator is clear, but the lack of emotion makes it almost unlistenable. I find my mind wandering and that almost never happens with a human narrator. The lack of context results in some words being mispronounced which is kind of annoying.

Virtual narration is awful
