This is an incredible discussion of the recent research around sustainability, science, and terroir. The author blends recent studies together to find a narrative that complements his own understanding of the historical and modern importance of soil science and ecology.

This audiobook suffers immensely by having an AI virtual voice. There are scientific mispronounciations and inconsistency in tone that drastically hinder the listening experience. The book itself is good but the execution as an audiobook is awful. Hearing "kilogram per hectare" pronounced as "kay-gee slash HAH" three times in one sentence shows how little attention was paid to editing this product. It's unfortunate that the author couldn't find a single narrator for hire. I find this hard to believe, but I can think of no other moral reason to bring in a choppy, distracting AI voice. I'm sure they didn't look for five minutes.

If there's a place for AI reading, it's not here
