Horrifying

This book almost made me grateful for climate change and the 6th Great Extinction. Fascinating, and the characters were very realistic. Very sad and hopeless at the end. People can be amazingly hateful. I’m a retired psychologist, and am amazed at how many dysfunctional people I encounter outside of a psychiatric hospital, so I’m afraid I am very cynical now. This book is very insightful. I lived in Oregon and guessed a place she had done her research. The tribes are known to me and a change in standard of living for them was not understood for Europeans, like it was in the book for the “ rangers.” I live in the woods now, and can understand.

Definitely not a best seller quality
Story and plot line were fairly weak and wandering. Started off well. Concept was good but author just could not pull it all together to make a compelling or complete story

Wow!

This is a great dystopian work about a future that is not hard to imagine if we continue the way we look at nature. It is a great listen and great reminder of why we should look to leave the world better instead of destroying nature in the name of progress.

A Triumph

This book will surely stay with me, haunting in its brutal truth. A beautiful accomplishment.

Just what I wanted

It’s a story of what’s going on during societal collapse. I love the timeline, character development and drama. Wish there was a bit more information I could glean as a prepper, but it gave me everything I want in a mid-apocalypse story and more. Strong female lead, a story about a young woman growing up in the wild, and solid writing. Finally, not a book about a well armed militia taking down the riff raff. This is a wonderful book to experience. I’d read it again and I wish there to be a sequel.
