This is the second book in the Taggart Series where Bar, a wandering dwarf and Tami, a royal elf seek to find a place to make a home. Being chased by king Ellon, these two and their friends seek to escape to the north where they can get lost in the vast woodlands never to be found by the king. However, things do not go as planned and the newly wedded couple and their friends end up having to make some hard decisions. Along the way the bracelets of power are found and from this point on, these are important to the plot line of this series. This book follows, The Wanderer, where Bar, Tami, and their friends are introduced as well as how these two unlikely youngsters found each other and hope in what seemed like dark times.

Great book to listen to on a road trip!

The reader was excellent! I loved his different voices!

I also loved reading in the perspective of each different character!

The series plot line is slow to develop but it thickens in the second books and made it for a much more exciting read than the wanderer in my opinion!

Real “page turner”

I listen to a ton of books because I drive a lot. I liked the first book of this series, but this one is even better. I’m excited for book three.
These are not long winded epic fantasy books. They are fast paced adventure. This one is written in first person but each chapter is a different character, which I liked:
Bar is a great character
Tami’s gift is excellent
Corrin is interesting and fun

The bracelet things are cool and I’m excited to see if they are used more in the future books.

Excellent Sequel

I liked this one even more than the first! You got to know the characters on a deeper level. Bar and Tami's sweet devotion to each other really made their characters' shine. It fulfilled my desire from reading the first book to see the romance developed.

The storyline was good, the villain worthy of hate, all in all I thoroughly enjoyed it. This book increased my regard for the series.

The reader was very good, and the recording sound was nice and clear.

Critiques- The story wrapped up just a little too quick for me.
