Fast-paced mystery thrillers with a strong female lead, shocking crimes, and chilling twists. Welcome to book one.

An obsessive-compulsive killer leaves a trail of bodies and cryptic messages.

When the first victim is found dead in his kitchen with a mysterious number and message on his forehead, FBI Agent Victoria Heslin knows this is no ordinary hit job. It’s also just the beginning. As she follows the leads, calls start coming in—more dead bodies across D.C. and Virginia, each with a different message.

With no common denominator connecting the victims, Victoria fears anyone might be next. Then the killer leaves a personal note for Victoria, making clear she isn’t just investigating the case, she’s part of the equation.

As the body count rises and panic grips the capital, Victoria races to identify the disturbed killer and the motive, which proves to be anything but random.

With The Numbers Killer, USA Today bestselling author Jenifer Ruff introduces a series of smart and gripping suspense thrillers with powerful twists. Each book features a different investigation and can be listened to as a standalone.

I really liked another book by Jenifer Ruff and wanted to listen to this one. I tried but had to return it due to the narration. I only made it through about 30 minutes of the book. The narrator speaks in a rushed manner then ENTIRE time. It makes the entire book sounded rushed and actually made me feel anxious. I’m sure the book is good but I’ll either have to read it or find a version with a different narrator.

Horrible Narration Had to Return
