The Nymphomaniac is written in the style of Psycho-Mythology, a creative kind of union between fiction and psychological fact. In this literature an individual’s fantasy transcends the personal level, reaching the collective unconscious. Spiegelman had used Jung’s method of inner dialogue and Active Imagination for fourteen years, when one day there was a quantum jump for him, and as he put it:

Israel Regardie (1907-1985) the western world’s foremost authority on higher consciousness states:
