I have lived two lives. The first was only a heartbeat in comparison to my second, and so much has happened in my second life that the memories of my first are all but gone. All that remains are the memories of my family and everything I have done in my second lifetime is for them. There is an old Earth adage that states you alone must choose the path you must walk. The path of the virtuous is righteous but full of trials and failures while the path of the wicked is ruthless and without concern. That proverb now holds a special meaning to me as the enemy I must face is one that I am ultimately responsible for creating, albeit indirectly. By being forced to travel through time I witnessed my child and my best friend’s child become the enemy of all. A future that I defeated once and that I alone must prevent yet again, and to do so I had to travel across space and time to prevent it from ever reoccurring. The enemy I prayed I had destroyed has returned and should I fail then that future will be reborn.
