After moving to Granada, John falls in love with Matilda (Mattie) Jamison. It’s not long before they decide to get married and take over the Rocking W spread and start raising cattle that they hope will eventually be shipped to the eastern markets. However, their plans are sorely tested when John discovers that the son of the owner of the neighboring T Bar C, Trent Comstock, is an integral part of rustling the Rocking W’s stock with an accomplice named Jerrod Tatum, who fancies himself a gun handler. When John gets involved in trying to bring the culprits to justice, old wounds are reopened when the rustlers are joined by a full-blown gunfighter named Rowdy Swain, who figures he has a bone to pick with the legendary lawman/gunfighter, Johnny Silver.
