How many times can one use the words tapestry or fabric in one book! Lots and lots of over the top proclamations and promises with little substance. The book skips over centuries at a time and has no cohesion. This book rads like a bad high school english essay.

One of the worst books I’ve ever listened to.

This was much more of an idealistic commentary than a historical review. It conveniently glossed over the hundreds of thousands of people who died at the hands of the Ottomans during their conquests while glamourizing the Ottoman culture. At least, it did acknowledge the Armenian genocide.
