The Parish Priest and the Hooker

The Parish Priest gives him a knowing look, not embarrassed, but the look of a man who expected to be found out sooner or later and was thinking, here it is. Some events aren’t made to be secrets. A visit by Priests to lap dancing clubs within the Parish boundaries is one such event. “Good sources,” he confesses by way of congratulating the Barman on his inside knowledge. “People talk, rumour travels. It’s said that you came out of Strimmers in your cassock, so the rumour is that someone died or was killed.” The Parish Priest sips his pint. He looks pleased. “I was worried,” he remarks, “That there’d be some would say I’d go to a place like that for personal reasons.” “Personal reasons?” The Barman is smiling as he asks. We both look at the Parish Priest as the pints settle and he gathers his thoughts. “The call came at dawn’s early light,” he explains.
