I brought her home from the hospital. But she wasn’t mine to take…

All I’ve ever wanted is to be a mother. And as soon as I looked into the beautiful, bright blue eyes of this baby tucked in her blanket, my world felt complete.

Stepping into the cold air outside of the hospital doors, a shiver runs through me. I know my life will never be the same again. I slip off her little white medical bracelet and put it in the pocket of my jeans.

I think of the woman upstairs in the hospital room who will soon return and find her child gone. I hesitate. Am I doing the right thing?

I remind myself of what she’s done. I remember the blood, the police sirens, the secrets she’s hidden. I must keep this sweet, innocent child safe. The lies I’ve told are nothing in comparison to hers. This baby is better off with me. But when everyone finds out what I’ve done, will anyone believe me?

A heart-pounding, emotional rollercoaster that will leave listeners breathless. Fans of Freida McFadden, Lisa Jewell and Liane Moriarty will be gripped by the non-stop twists.

I almost gave up when I was half way through because it is so slow and confusing. Nothing happens and when it does it’s written in a way so the twist isn’t revealed. The problem is that it’s too slow and confusing to want to continue. I completed it but it was too little too late for me to recommend this book. I saw it had high reviews but honestly wish I would’ve spent my credit and time on something else.

Slow, confusing first half.
