The Yogakarnika of Aghoranandanatha is an encyclopedia and practice manual of Yoga composed between the 16th-18th centuries C.E. In the genre of Yoga classics such as the Goraksha Samhita, the Hathayogapradipika and Gheranda Samhita. It expounds the entire range of yogas from Hatha to Kundalini. The author Aghoranandanatha, is in the lineage of renowned Mahasiddhas such as Gorakshanath, whom he quotes in his treatise as a primary authority. Although the treatise comprehensively covers the entire range of yogas, it has an underlying Tantric orientation and can also be considered as primarily a treatise on Kundalini Yoga. Circulated among a small community of yogis for centuries, it was largely unknown outside this community of yogis until the Sanskrit text was edited and published in 1980 by Dr. Dhirendranath Sharma. It has been translated in English for the first time for the benefit of yoga practitioners and aficianados everywhere. Other Religions, Practices & Sacred Texts Physical Exercise Yoga
