"The Pioneers: The Sources of the Susquehanna; a Descriptive Tale" is a historical novel, the first published of the "Leatherstocking Tales", a series of five novels by American writer James Fenimore Cooper.

While "The Pioneers" was published in 1823, before any of the other "Leatherstocking Tales", the period it covers makes it the fourth chronologically.©2017 SAGA Egmont (P)2017 SAGA Egmont

The story itself takes a while to get going, but I have to admit the last 1/3 of it feels right for a movie. That being said the audio and narration was so bad that I felt a single star might be appropriate, but settled on two.

This radar should be doing children's books with the ridiculous voice as it uses. Absolutely ruined the book for me I'll be watching for his name in the future in order to avoid him

Dud.

Maybe the least engaging story in the series, but still an interesting continuation of the overall story of deerlsayer(aka Hawkeye, or leatherstocking).

Audio quality suffers about the first half, then narration switches to a far better quality.

Maybe the least engaging story in the series

i enjoyed everything about this book
I live across the street from an old abandoned silver mine and caves are down the road from me. I wonder if Cooper was writing about my town of Stark.

the history of the Mohawk valley

It is definitely a descriptive book. After you get past the first few chapters it gets to the story and by the end it has you wanting to know. the narrator is ok

good but long on description
