The Clangers run into a problem when their soup trolley breaks, so Major Clanger and the Soup Dragon attempt to create a machine to transport their delicious green soup from the soup wells into their home.

The innovative device fails instantaneously when the pipes burst, spilling green soup all over the Clangers' floor. Mother Clanger is obviously upset that green soup coats her clean home, so the Clangers leave the troublesome contraption outside.

Creative Tiny Clanger recycles the machine into a marvellous musical instrument. With old scraps and parts of the soup machine, a beautiful and shiny pipe organ now fills the Clangers' planet with marvellous tunes.
